As some of you will already know, since I ran the initial Silverstone Race for Life 5k for Cancer Research UK in 2006, Mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy. There are now no more treatment options left, she is in a nursing home where she will be looked after while the disease takes its inevitable course. In the face of this, the need to do all I can to help beat cancer for others has become ever more personal for me, so it's time for a far tougher challenge. At double the distance this is not going to be easy (I've never run more than 6k), but it is something to aim at, so please sponsor me now and help Cancer Research UK in their work!
