My story

I managed it - just.  Cross with myself for having to take a few walking breaks, and 1'16" isn't exactly fast - but at least I finished without actually stopping.

Thanks so much (from the bottom of my well-worn sports bra) to everybody who has sponsored me so far.  There's still time if you feel like celebrating my achievement by adding to my total!

Since last May's 5K Race for Life - my first ever race - running has become a BIG part of my life, so I want to take part in as many events as possible - and encourage others to do so.

Who am I running for?

As last year...

I've been very lucky.  I've not lost anybody close to me to cancer, except for my Aunt Cindy who died when I was in my teens; and if she'd been diagnosed today, she probably wouldn't have died.

So while this race is partly in Cindy's memory, it's also for those who I've known who are the SURVIVORS - in the belief that Cancer Research can increase their numbers.  So:

* Sue in London, UK
* Frieda in Minneapolis, USA
* Antoinette in Norfolk, UK
* Caroline in London, UK
* Beryl in Essex, UK
* Antony in Lincs, UK
* Eleanor in Ontario, Canada

and most importantly,

* my dear Dad, Nick, who lost half a lung to cancer, but is still with us, several years later, at the age of 78

Thank you!
