:
Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.
Our groundbreaking work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has saved millions of lives. Survival rates have doubled in the last thirty years and we have been at the heart of that progress. But one in three of us will still get cancer at some point and our vital work, funded entirely by the public, will help ensure that millions more people will survive.

| My personal message: |
Thanks for visiting my page!
On 26 October I will be running 10K for Cancer Research UK along the Brighton seafront. Those people who know me will know I'm a keen runner anyway and 10K should not pose too much of a problem! However, you may not know that my Uncle David was recently diagnosed with cancer. During the last 5 months I cannot begin to describe what David and his wife Sarah have been through. Those of you who have had friends or family who have been similarly diagnosed will have an idea.
David has always been very active, it was only back in February when he was happily skiiing. That was a month before the diagnosis. Three sessions of chemo in 5 months has taken it's toll. Reading David and Sarahs' blog, (http://davidpell.blog.co.uk) has made me realize that cancer is very real and affects thousands of people everyday. So, whilst 10K is only a small effort, I felt compelled to do something for David and Sarah and everyone else who have been affected by the big taboo that is cancer.
Please please support me by donating through this site. It's quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you!
Matt.
