Well... I did it!
I ran as fast as my not so little legs could run... and that was 50mins. It was bleedin' hot as well. "Need air!" Had a great time. I'd definitely do it again and will. Thanks so much to all of you who've donated. This page is still up here for another couple of months. Be great to get to £1k. Footage will be up on youtube.com/imogenheap vblog no.31. Lots of love xxx i xxx
Below is the before...
Hello you. Thanks for coming and having a look.
As you've heard I'm doing a 10k run Sunday 12th for Cancer Research. I am also doing it because I have a slight competitive streak and want to beat everyone else in the race (that's obviously not going to happen!). My friend Abigail, said she did the last one in 47 minutes so... I'm going to try and beat that!
I love running. Only really discovered that this past year while I've been making the album here at the hideaway (studio name that goes where my gear goes.. which is at the house now in Essex). Making album's is when i usually don't get any exercise to speak of coz it's just me in a room for about a year moving slowly (sometimes excitedly and fast if the going's good) about, coaxing various things to make nice noises.
I've never lost anyone close to Cancer but it's very close to us all. My mum's mum died from Cancer before i was born. I'm sure they'll find a cure soon enough but every little bit helps them get there sooner.
If this goes well... who knows what other things I may end up doing for charity? Tackling the south pole? Parachuting? Maybe you can write in with some suggestions to info@imogenheap.com. It feels like a great excuse to do some mad stuff.
Will let you know how i get on in the next blog. Justine's going to come and film me (hopefully not collapsed somewhere in a Heap by name heap by temporary nature fashion).
Love fluv to you all.
